Meeting of Ambassador Tigran Balayan with the youth wing of PvdA party

On 6 October, 2021 the youth representatives of the Labor Party (PvdA) of the Netherlands were hosted at the Embassy.

Welcoming the guests in his introductory remarks the Ambassador referred to the centuries-old Armenian-Dutch friendship, spoke about the new level of interstate relations established between the two countries since Armenia’s independence and the rich agenda of the Embassy aimed at deepening those relations.

The main part of the meeting was dedicated to the recent Azerbaijan-Turkish aggression against Artsakh. In this context the Ambassador spoke about the prerequisites of unleashing a war By Azerbaijan, war crimes committed against the Armenians of Artsakh, humanitarian issues still unresolved, the security challenges derived from the end of the active military operations, that are exacerbating day by day.

The meeting was concluded in the atmosphere of active discussion, during which the youth politicians asked the Ambassador about the position of the Armenian side on resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, restoration of relations with Turkey and establishment of stability and lasting peace in the South Caucasus region, as well as possible actions from EU to these ends.
